Becoming a Grandma!
Becoming a mother was a huge thing for me...I always wanted to have a large family and I was fortunate enough to have that. Now the time has come for me to become a grandmother...watching little Havanna be born was one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed! Truly, how could one watch such an event and not believe in a higher power? Having a grandchild ranks right up there as one of the greatest things in my life. Thank you Spencer and Jenna...you have given me a tremendous gift with this wonderful new little one

Health Care...the continuing saga!
Still following the debate about Health Care. I know that changes need to be made..I have family members who don't have insurance and rely on the state to help them when they need it. They can't afford to pay for insurance themselves, or the health care without it. It would be nice to know EXACTLY what is being proposed. Are we going to end up like Canada and have a waiting list of 10 months to get into the hospital to deliver a baby that hasn't even been conceived yet? Are they going to limit care to those who have life-threatening illnesses like cancer? What about emergency care? How long are we going to have to wait to get into the doctor for things that aren't life threatening but are still serious like the flu or pneumonia or to get stitches? Who is going to answer all these questions? And better still, who can you trust to answer these questions? Conservatives seem to be against it altogether and the liberals seem to think it is the great answer to all the problems with our health care system.

Miracle Field
Saturday, September 19 they had the Grand Opening of "Miracle Field" in Monroe. It is a baseball field especially designed for those with disabilities. It was very cool to see. It is nice to know that there are still people in the world that care so much about the needs of others. So many people donated time and money and supplies to this cause so that these youth can have a place to play and to feel somewhat "normal". Dallon performed at the opening, singing "God Bless America" He did an amazing job!

What were they thinking?
Ok, so Dallon is a senior in High School this year..he needs only 2.5 credits to graduate, yet somebody in "authority" made it impossible for him or any other senior to graduate unless they have 5 classes a day for BOTH semesters!! So it really doesn't matter if he already has nearly enough credits to graduate..he will have to stay and take ridiculous classes just to meet this new requirement!

Ok.. Well people are still in an uproar about the Healthcare plan that is being presented to us. I don't think I want the government messing around with my healthcare--they have a hard enough time taking care of things they should be taking care of. Anyway...I was reading a book about John and Abigail Adams and there was a wonderful quote in it..."Our Consolation must be this, my dear, that Cities may be rebuilt, and a People reduced to Poverty may acquire fresh Property: but a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever" I think our leaders really need to remember this!!!

Ramblings
Watching the news today about the "Nationalized Health Care" really frightens me. Do people seriously not realize what the President is trying to do? Has anyone ever heard of socialism? YIKES!! I worry about what we are saddling our children and grandchildren with. Really now, ask the countries that have socialized medicine how well it works and how long they have to wait for a doctor appointment and why they come to the U.S. to get surgery etc., etc. Wake up America!!! Before you know it we will have no control over what is happening to us!
